Marc Silver was born in London and works worldwide as a filmmaker and creative director. He has collaborated with several major artists such as Nitin Sawhney, Michael Nyman, Ben Okri, Matthew Herbert and Cirque Du Soleil.
His art installations and documentaries identify locations of power and potentials for resistance. Silver's primary interest is in exploring the construction of physical and psychological barriers, in a time where the world is seemingly ever more connected and unbordered.
He works with various mediums directing animation, music videos, documentaries, video installations and live VJing.
Silver is currently directing 2 feature length documentaries. `Who is Dayani Cristal?' is with Gael Garcia Bernal, and is set at the Wall that is being built along the USA's border with Mexico. `Ahead of the Game' is set in the heart of the neighbourhoods hosting the 2012 Olympics. It is a personal exploration of the multi billion pound development project as seen through the eyes of AJ, a 20 year old who grew up in poverty on the estates of the East End.
Silver is developing new live audio visual shows for the musicians Ben Frost and Omar Sosa, as well as working as Creative Director for Jamie Cullum.
His new 360 degrees installation `En Masse', part concert, part film, is currently touring Australia.
